Vidinge Gård is a cozy, family-friendly, and dog-friendly guesthouse located in the heart of Glasriket in the scenic region of Småland, 2 km outside of Älghult. Here, you’ll stay out in the countryside, surrounded by pastures with grazing cows, forests, and gravel roads, with easy access to fishing and beautiful nature reserves.
At Vidinge Gård, there are hotel-standard rooms with private bathrooms that are made up and ready for you. There are also hostel-style rooms or B&B accommodations where three rooms share two bathrooms. Here, you can choose whether you want to book a room with linens and towels provided or bring your own. For all rooms, you have the option to book with linens, towels, and a breakfast buffet. All rooms have access to the shared kitchen for those who prefer to cook their own meals. On the ground floor, there are two spacious apartmentswiththeir own kitchen, bathroom, living room with dining area, and three separate bedrooms that can accommodate up to 7–8 people. Perfect for families or small groups who enjoy spending time together but prefer separate bedrooms.
Dogs are welcome in all rooms and are welcome to play in the garden with the guesthouse’s own dog. In the garden near the entrance to the guesthouse, there is space for up to sixparking spotsfortrailers or RVs, with electricity and access to the guesthouse’s bathroom and kitchen. It’s also possible to park in the lot, subject to availability, without electricity or amenities, at a reduced rate. You’re also welcome to rent the entire guesthouse—or a single floor—for parties, wedding receptions, family reunions, corporate events, and more.
The Restaurant
The restaurant serves delicious, wholesome food, prepared from scratch, with a focus on local and homegrown ingredients—grown on the farm or sourced from the forest, fields, and water. Guests staying at the property can order a hearty, varied breakfast. During peak season, they also offer lunch, packed lunches, and dinner, which are served in the dining room, on the patio, or in the cozy pub. In the summer, weather permitting, they often offer a barbecue with a varied selection, which is also open to the public. They are fully licensed.
Activity
Vidinge Gård is also home to the Alsterån Stream Fishing Center. A 15-kilometer stretch of scenic, uncrowded trout fishing in flowing waters with a wilderness feel reminiscent of Norrland. The area around Vidinge Gård offers plenty of activities for nature lovers. Fishing, biking and hiking trails, a birdwatching tower (800 meters from the farm), mushroom-picking forests, and destinations for day trips. If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation, you can enjoy the large garden for sunbathing and play, visit the swimming spot in Älghult, take a forest bath, and soak up the tranquility of the woods on foot or in a hammock.
