A lot happens over the course of a year in the Kingdom of Glass, but some of the events are particularly closely tied to our glassworks and furnaces. These are events where a large part of the experience is getting up close and personal with the glowing craft.
You can find more information about each event in our Event Calendar as one of the dates listed below approaches. Go to the Event Calendar
Glass Art, April 25–26
Welcome spring in the Kingdom of Glass, where glassworks and studios showcase new creations in both art and utility glass. New product launches and opening receptions for new exhibitions. Throughout the weekend, you’re also welcome to attend dazzling glass-blowing demonstrations, where you, as a visitor, can get up close and personal with this fascinating craft.
The Glass Art Festival is always held on the last weekend in April.

Glasriket Glöder, October 16–18
When Småland is at its darkest, Glasriket shines brightest. During the dark autumn months, it’s even more dramatic and exciting to step into the world of glass and watch as skilled artisans shape the molten glass. There are glowing glass shows, musical entertainment, and creative events taking place throughout Glasriket.
"Glasriket Glöder" is always held during the weekend of Week 42

Bergdala Fall Market, October 24
The Bergdala Glassworks area and the glassworks building are filled with everything you’d expect at a truly cozy fall market: crafts, food, pumpkins, candy, and, of course, glass. Grab a drink at Café Bergdala or settle in for a while inside the glassworks building, where glassblowing demonstrations take place all day long.
The Berdala Fall Market is always held on the Saturday following Glasriket Glöder

Kosta Christmas Market, November 21 – December 31
Millions of Christmas lights illuminate the town and create a festive atmosphere right in the heart of Kosta. Here you’ll find fun activities for both children and adults, and you won’t want to miss the classic path to Santa’s house. There are also craft stalls offering both treats and handmade goods. The scent of mulled wine wafts through the area while the children’s laughter echoes from the carousel.
You're also warmly welcome to come into the foundry to see the skilled craftsmen at work.
The Kosta Christmas Market is always held from around mid-November through New Year's Eve.
