Just south of Nybro lies the Svartbäcksmåla Nature Reserve. The reserve is one of Sweden’s largest recreational areas near urban centers, and its purpose is to protect, promote, and enhance the area’s high natural values in combination with its recreational and outdoor values.
Fitness trails that become great cross-country ski trails in the winter, and a slalom slope that challenges visitors to uphill hill training in the summer. Year-round, the Svartbäcksmåla outdoor recreation area is a popular destination for those who enjoy nature—whether to exercise or take a leisurely stroll. In the summer, the marked trails offer opportunities for hiking and running. The area also features an outdoor gym for strength training, and there’s a cool adventure course for the kids.
During the winter, there is a slalom slope with three runs covered in artificial snow, cross-country trails covered in artificial snow and groomed, and a large sledding hill. There is a warming hut, a barbecue area, and the option to rent slalom equipment. Nybro Ski and the Nybro Slalom Club organize the winter activities.
Mountain Biking: The area offers six mountain bike trails totaling 2.7 mil. There is also a technical trail, a flow trail, and a pump track.
At the large parking lot in Svartbäcksmåla, there are also four RV sites available for reservation. All sites have access to electrical outlets. Reservations for these sites are made throughNybro Camping.
