Restaurant Owner Wanted
Eriksmåla Rest Area
We are looking for a restaurant owner who wants to run one of Glasriket’s restaurants and who also wants to help develop the location into a sustainable rest stop that people speak highly of.
The Eriksmåla Rest Area is an important hub for visitors and residents of Emmaboda Municipality and Glasriket. It handles the heaviest traffic in our area and serves as a hub for travelers coming from Halmstad/Växjö, Öland/Kalmar, Poland/Karlskrona, and Jönköping/Motala/Kosta.
Our vision is to work with our partners to develop this location into a sustainable, high-quality rest area with excellent service and a wide variety of offerings.
Today, one of the Glasriket Infopoints is located in part of the premises. There are public restrooms, a playground, and a barbecue area with furniture. There are parking spaces for passenger cars, as well as for longer vehicles such as buses, trucks, and cars with trailers and RVs, along with charging stations for electric vehicles.
In the next step, we want to set up a staffed tourist information center on the premises, along with a shop selling locally produced goods from Glasriket and the surrounding area.
RV travelers will be able to empty their gray and black water tanks at the rest area and stay for up to 24 hours.
Upstairs, there is an area of about 400 square meters that offers plenty of potential. It previously housed a flea market.
In the immediate area, there is a gas station with a convenience store, a glassworks, a marketplace, and a restaurant to partner with.
A short distance away are several well-known attractions, such as
– Vilhelm Moberg’s Duvemåla
– The Glass Factory, the Nordic region’s only glass museum
– Hönsalotta’s Tramp Museum
– Emmaboda Town Center: dining, lodging, and shopping
– The Entertainment Industry in Emmaboda
– Destination Kosta, featuring a glassworks, safari park, outlet mall, lodging, and much more
– Emmaboda Motor Race Track, which hosts a number of major motorsports events during the summer months.
– Campgrounds and swimming areas
