Hofmantorp Säteri is located in southern Småland, about 2.5 mil east of Växjö and south of Route 25 toward Kalmar, southwest of the town of Hovmantorp.
The estate consists of approximately 1,000 hectares of well-rounded land on peninsulas in Lake Rottnen. Here, forestry is conducted with great consideration for nature conservation and wildlife management, along with extensive agriculture involving grazing livestock, as well as various forms of nature-based tourism centered on fishing, crayfish catching, hunting, and a high quality of life in a peaceful and beautiful setting.
During the summer, accommodations are available in lakeside cottages and cabins on peninsulas and islands in Lake Rottnen. The cabins have no electricity and therefore no running water. Guests will use candles, kerosene lamps, and a fire in the open fireplace, along with a sink and a dry toilet. Showers are replaced by swimming from the dock. This is a deliberate choice—it creates a uniquely relaxing atmosphere compared to everyday life. All cottages and cabins have their own boat slip or dock very close by or right next to the accommodation. A rowboat is included with the rental.
