Soldattorpet, where Moberg grew up, no longer exists. It was demolished in 1924. Moberg's parents had seven children and only a few lived to adulthood. It is told how poor they were in the soldiers' barracks. The children had to stay indoors in the winter because they didn't have any real shoes. During the summer they had to be outside without shoes until the fall when the frost came. The toilet was a pit in the woods. What a journey Moberg made during his life! It was in 1970 that the parishioners erected the stone. It is beautifully situated on a small hill. Feel free to visit it and soak up the atmosphere!
