Guided tour of the Lessebo mill where the paper is still made entirely by hand.
Lessebo hand paper mill dates back to the 17th century. It once began as an iron mill and has since been converted into a paper mill. Here there have been many mill cartridges, many workers and many human destinies to tell about. Once upon a time, this area was a border area between Denmark and Sweden. The paper mill came into existence after the construction of the Naval City of Karlskrona began after 1648. There are many writers and artists who used the Lessebo paper. Vilhelm Moberg and August Strindberg to name a few. Join us on an exciting guided tour of the old hand mill. The tour takes 45-60 minutes depending on the group size and includes a short film where you see how the production is done.
The building does not have an elevator, but it is possible to walk around the outside of the building to get to the kype and lower floor. Report this when booking and we will make sure that there are companions who can accompany you.
