Borrow equipment for recording - Glasriket

Borrow equipment for recording

Being able to offer your visitors a nearby bike or hiking tour can increase both attractiveness and make the visitor stay longer. Destination Glasriket has invested in a Garmin GPS Map that can be used to record a digital file over a loop or so that it can be inserted into e.g. The nature map. It is free to borrow for those who want.

Getting tips on a nearby tour for hiking or biking is much appreciated. A tip you can give to visitors you meet. Or as a suggestion for an excursion to your website's visitors. Getting information on a tour proposal can be what makes the visitor come to you.

In this context, the nature map is a good place to post trails and tours as it becomes easily accessible. A place for you to link to where the recorded trail is visible with its map extent.

Any suggestions:
  • If you are an accommodation facility, it can be valuable to have a few different tour suggestions for visitors who want to take an excursion on foot or bicycle.
  • If you are a café or restaurant, the combination of a coffee or lunch package and a suggested tour can be attractive.
  • No matter how you go out cycling, it's a nice service to deliver a bunch of tour suggestions in your vicinity.
  • If you run a retro or flea market, it can be interesting to create a cycle tour where the cyclist passes your and nearby and similar businesses. As a small themed tour with perhaps a stop at a cafe that you can pass on the way.

Above points are just some of many ideas and it is really only the imagination that puts an end here.

To think of:
  • When considering a bike tour in your area, make sure you only choose roads that are not private. Avoid the major and well-trafficked roads. If the tour is on private roads or roads for forest machines, a landowner agreement is required for the tour.
  • A turn for hiking is a bit the same. Feel free to use our rich selection of dirt roads. Nature trails in forests, private roads or roads for forest machines require a landowner agreement.

Dirt roads in particular are a small hallmark of our area, and it is precisely Småland and Norrland. These areas have a rich variety of dirt roads that are not private. And there is much to discover along these winding and fine dirt roads. A resource for us and attractive for the visitor.

If you have any suitable roads in your vicinity where it would be possible to create a tour for hiking or cycling, please contact us at Destination Glasriket. We are happy to lend you our Garmin GPS so that you can record the trail so that we can then post it in the Nature Map.

We have also put together a simplified user manual that comes with you when you borrow the equipment. If you want to get an idea of how easy it is to record a trip, you can watch it here.

We are also happy to be a sounding board and offer some tips before it is time for you to carry out the recording itself.

Here is a link to what is so far in the Nature Map for the Glass Kingdom. Maybe there is already a tour in your area that you can tell your visitors about. When you meet them or as a tip on your website.
