The Emigrants - Kingdom of Glass

In the years 1846–1930, nearly 250,000 Småland immigrants emigrated to America, and during a tour of the areas around Emmaboda, Lessebo and Tingsryd, you will recognize many places from the books and films. There are also places here with stories from Vilhelm Moberg's childhood. This is where he was born and went to school. It was here that he had his first jobs, before becoming a world-renowned writer. The environment, nature and people from his childhood have characterized several of his famous novels and there are many places to visit to take part in his life.
